Paeonol (INCI: Paeonol) is a white to off-white crystalline powder that inhibits tyrosinase activity to brighten skin tone. It also offers anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects (MIC 62.5 mg/mL) and helps relieve skin pain and itching. Soluble in alcohol and oil, it is typically used at 0.01–0.2%.
